Led by an experienced Language and Literacy Specialist, this audit focuses on developing strong foundations in communication and language, early reading, and writing. The day includes leadership discussions, learning walks, and a shared evaluation of current provision, followed by a clear action plan, including follow up support days later on in the year.
As highlighted in the Reading Framework, “the development of children’s spoken language underpins all seven areas of learning and development.”
The Writing Framework also emphasises that “writing builds on children’s oral language and their understanding of the world.”
