On Friday 9th July, the Government announced a package of support to boost literacy skills and help pupils in the most disadvantaged regions catch up after Covid. Eligible primary schools will be supported to purchase training and resources for one of the accredited phonics programmes on the DfE’s validated list.
At present, this funding is only available to state-funded primary schools and special schools that meet the following criteria:
▪ They must have a minimum of 25% of their pupils eligible for pupil premium.
▪ They must be in one of the 60 local authority districts (LADs).

|City of Bristol||Camden|
If your school is not on this list of regions, please get in touch with your local English Hub for further guidance (check here to find your nearest hub) as you may well still be eligible for funding and support.
